Another year gone by. The year 2025 was a mixed bag. It started off well, with a wonderful trip to NYC/Connecticut for a wedding with a wonderful train ride to get there. It dipped a bit in the middle with kidney stone surgery for me and some other health issues for family members. But we all came through ok and finished the year in decent health. So I’m grateful for having healthcare that didn’t bankrupt me.

As for my country, it’s quite the disappointment. The fact that so many people still think that our president is a good person and not a convicted felon is quite problematic. This is also the year that I think showed pretty plainly just how racist many people are and how many people will proudly proclaim that. I’m unsure how the country will survive another three years of this administration, but I hope that I’ll have the courage to stand up against it.

As for this website, I haven’t really been using it much. I’ve been preferring to write in my paper journal a lot of the stuff that I used to post here. It’s not that I want to keep it private. It’s more that I’m more enjoying using a nice fountain pen and journal to think through things. I feel like I stare at screens all day long, so anything that gets me away from that is a good thing.
