So, the drywall is done and I’ve started taping. I just did a couple of seams in the closet, to see how it dries and how it will look tomorrow. It’s slow and messy, but definitely doable. I might have to do more sanding to get rid of mistakes, but I think I’ll be able to make it look nice.

I also found my first big mistake. I moved the entrance to the closet so that a small window would be in the room. Today, I decided to try to open the window. It had been painted shut and was not about to budge. But, with a lot of prying and pushing, I got it to open a little. Well, first I shifted the glass in the window, so that it has a nice little hole now. (So much for making the room warmer with insulation). But when I did get it to actually open, it ran right into the new wall I just built. I *thought* I was flush with the board that was there, but alas no. I’ll have to do a little sanding to let me open the window. And I’m not quite sure how I’m going to finish the window since there is absolutely no room to put drywall, as I did around the other window. Oh well. My first mistake from which I’ll learn something.
