Visiting the Roosevelt summer house on Campobello Island in New Brunswick.
The ice house for the cottage
A view of the house from near the ice house
The Roosevelts beach at low tide
My picture does not do justice to the beauty there.
Look, I'm really there!
Not really a beach, but it looks better at high tide
A view of the cottage from the beach.
Rear of the cottage
Just a little cottage with 18 bedrooms
Saint John is now visited by cruise lines. The boat is HUGE!
Ellen took me here on Wednesday night. Very few people around, but when the tour boat docks on Tuesdays and Thursdays the number of people increases dramatically.
The two-story band thing in the middle of King's square. There's only one other of these in the world, somewhere in Chile I think. (I forgot what the plaque said.)
A loyalist cemetary right next to King's square
The paths in the cemetary are laid out in a union jack pattern
Example of a tombstone. I should have picked one with a year on it, but this one was the easiest one to read that I found.
New Brunswick is the only official bilingual province. So, everything is written in English and French.
A seal fountain in the loyalist cemetary
There's water overflowing the edges
Better view of the band area in King's square. My friend Ellen played there when she was a kid.
Again, everything in English and French.
In case you really wanted to read it.
Read it in French
Canadians look to have a bigger stride than Americans.
City Hall
Yes, Hotel de ville means City Hall
This ship was freakin' enormous.
It's much prettier than it looks here
It's also a busy port
Driving down a street. I forgot which one.
