So, after a period of darkness (both me being somewhat depressed about the time things were taking and literally because there was limited electricity in the room), my bedroom now has light. Actually, it has A light.

Things are definitely looking up. My drywall taping skills have gotten much better. I learned three things that are pretty important. First, you have to add quite a bit of water to the mud and thin it out a lot. It works much better that way. Second, work all horizontal seams and then vertical, or vice versa. Just don’t try to cross seams when they’re not completely dry. That is a recipe for disaster. Third, when doing inside corners. It’s good to start and finish in a dry section. Trying to start smoothing a corner in wet mud makes it really hard. If you start where it’s dry, it seems to go a little better. I’m not finished yet, so I’ll probably come across other things when I start to finish up, but for now, I’m feeling much better about things.
