We decide not to go in, but to pretend that we did. So now we know the secret of Donjon de Vez, do you?
Content with taking a picture outside of whatever the heck Donjon de Vez is, we head back down the hill.
Apparently, there was a show of sculptures by american artists at Donjon de Vez. We could see a few by peering over the fence to the left.
After the excitement of Donjon de Vez, where would we go? We headed to Chantilly. Why? Because it's there.
Chantilly is a huge horse town. This is a horse racing track that was really pretty.
We're now walking between the track on our left and a giant training facility, museum and restaurant on our right.
Here we're resting by the entrance to the museum, which was closed.
The building was quite old and massive.
Now we're walking around the other side to our rental car.
This is the entry to the horse track.
Leaving the horse track we came to this beautiful chateau.
Unfortunately, it was closed, but it would definitely be worth another visit to see.
This is the same chateau from a different road.
It was quite well protected. If you hopped this fence, you'd be in thorn covered bushes and would fall into a gap about 20 feet deep.
Amy quite pleased with our unusual discovery of the chateau. She'll have to make another trip to France to see it.
Kelsey thought it was pretty cool too.
Our last car stop back in Paris was at the home of the 1998 World Cup stadium (le Stade de France)
Kelsey even had her soccer shirt on for the occasion.
Cool to see the stadium, even though we couldn't get in.
Checking out the seating, in the event we ever get to a match here
Kelsey on the fence to see the small part of the pitch that could be seen from the street.
Amy not as impressed with the stadium as we were
Julie made it known that she was at the stadium as well.
Packing up to leave John's spacious apartment. The blue mattress on the floor is where Julie slept, while Amy and Kelsey shared the fold out couch.
Our last, best meal in Paris, where Kelsey and Julie sat in what were essentially church pews.
And now we pray...
